Hello and welcome! My name is Amber and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois. Hailing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I received my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health in 2015. I have 7 years of experience working with clients across the life cycle (ages 3 years old to 80+ years young) in a variety of settings. Most recently my passion has evolved to working with adults who are struggling to navigate life transitions while being mindful to care for their own needs to live life authentically. I have experience in helping clients with navigating depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (postpartum anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.) & coping with life changes.
As a therapist I believe that my role in the relationship is to assist you on your journey to wellness through providing authentic, compassionate care and genuine empathy. Trained in CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), EFT and Humanistic Therapy, I utilize an eclectic client-centered approach which allows you to take the lead in every part of the treatment process. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
Like many of the individuals I work with, I too wear many hats. I am a wife to an amazing United States Navy veteran. Together we are conquering the task of parenting two wonderful little humans. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, working in the garden, watching Marvel movies, and building memories with my family.
